A Hollywood double-feature!

‍Los Angeles, 1940’s. It’s double the laughs and double the intrigue as two plots unfold at once when a young New York writer is brought to Los Angeles to turn his best-selling crime novel into a screenplay. As we follow the writer’s travails in the film industry, where the “envy is so thick, you can cut it with the knife lodged in every other back,” the novel’s private-eye comes to life in the evening’s split screen plot.

With a dazzling, jazzy score by Cy Coleman and David Zippel and a brilliant book by Larry Gelbart this musical is played on two stages, “only one of which is reel, while the other is only real!”

Directed by Nick Bowling.
